You can join us in the following ways:
1. Forming your own Recordatio group.
One aim of this cinema club is to share these films with others, as well as encouraging the experience of watching them with others. While watching a film alone is all well and good, watching a film with others allows it to become a community experience, and thus a potentially richer experience, where ideas and reflections can be shared.
So, you are invited to form your own group of friends and watch these films alongside us, as we watch them each month. A group should be at least 3 or more people. (In the first year of the Sydney group, we had about 50 members on our list, and each month approximately 15 people coming to the films. The combination of people and the numbers changed from month to month depending on availability, which made an organic and unique experience each time.)
2. Sharing your reflections.
While we cannot publish all reflections/writings, we would love to hear your experiences and so we encourage you to write to us at therecordatioproject@gmail.com. In any case, we encourage you to share your reflections with each other, and your larger networks, so that more people will experience these great films and be open to a deeper reflection upon each of them.
3. Reading our reflections.
Each month we will post reflections and essays on this website, as we watch each film – so follow us so that you too can share in the experience and unpack the film with us.
4. Simply, watching these films.
If one person watches a classic film they have never before seen due to this website, then it has all been worthwhile. So if all else fails – just watch these films!
